Don't be Forgetful...

I invited my good friend Aldo to share her story with you on my blog in hopes that it would drive home the  message that you should be protecting your investment. If you are like me, you've spend a small fortune buying musical instruments and in one bad day, your entire collection could be wiped out. If you don't keep records receipts and serial numbers, your insurance company could give you the big F-off!

A security alarm is not expensive and it is a great deterrent to stop the theft of your most beloved possessions.

Forgetful Me

Guest post written by my buddy Aldo Mays

I admit I am forgetful. I think that I try to cram too much into my allotted 24 hours a day. I have forgotten recitals, PTA meetings and dentist appointments. I have a calendar that I use to make sure I keep up with the appointments. I also have a to-do list that I write out every night. Even with all of these reminders I still forget things. I was running late one day and I ran out of the house without setting the alarm. I was almost to my destination before I remembered I did not set it. Fortunately for me my husband arrived at the house about five minutes after I left. I felt really guilty because I overlooked my first priority, keeping my family safe. When I got back home I immediately went online to AllHomeSecurity.com to see if there were any packages that could link my smartphone to our alarm system. I upgraded our current package so I would never be in that type of situation again.

Top 10 Crazy Guitar Stunts

I recently got an Email from Gibson discussing the top 10 guitar stunts. I can honestly say that I was only aware of about six of them. Being a huge Angus Young fan, I think that the video shown with him soloing while being carried on a roadies back is just killer. You couldn't get away with that today as a guitarist. Someone would yank your cord or knock you over just for fun. You can check out the video here!

It's time to leave Max

As a DIE HARD Max Cavalera fan, I've always followed his choices of guitars. I even purchased one of his winter camo AX models a few years ago but alas, I think it is time that Max leaves the confines of ESP guitars. This new axe, which is a just a painted version of their standard EX series is just to boring for me. I loved the Viper model with the Brazilian flag and I loves the AX series due to its unique shape. But max playing essentially the same guitar as James Hetfield, is just stupid!

Okay, so it has the one knob one pickup configuration like all of this guitars but it has a stop tailpiece? I guess I'm being a snotty fan but the Viper, AX and his all-time classic Warlocks did not use stop tail pieces. As a builder, I prefer the strings going through the body for added resonance. I've been getting the guitar bug lately but I think I'll be looking elsewhere.
